I asked the manager, Rachel at the Burger King on Skillman & Abrams, Dallas, TX for an application. They didn't have any at that time, my luck, all out! So, with the little bit of money I had in my pocket, I ordered a small drink and a breakfast burrito. I studied the few patrons that were there at the time eating in, and their set up. Couple things came to my mind. I handed Rachel my card and told her about my ideas.
England may one day have a new King. What about Burger King makes this thing work? On their commercials they have literally a King that looks more like the Clown that Jack in the Box is, and their fast food concepts all resemble MacDonald's. Burger King, besides the publicity it received from Bill Clinton, all is but fading fast. Their constantly in a burger war with the other fast foods and personally, I'm not impressed with their breakfast burrito that I'm eating.
Wouldn't it be GREAT if Burger KING reformated their angle and became a UPSCALE, HIGH END burger! With names of their burgers as all the KINGS in history? I'm sure they couldn't affiliate with all the King Icons throughout history like the Kind of Rock and Roll, or the King of Pop, or the King of Late Night, but they don't have to use their names like Elvis or Johnny Carson, or Michael Jackson. What if they just used their titles. There is no infringement on that? King of Swing, could be their playground area. They also need to offer WiFi to be competitive and get the upscale clientel. They are missing a whole bunch of business cause they don't offer that!
I don't think the name King should be Clowned around!!! It should symbolize a respectable mean at any cost and a HIGH QUALITY one as well. I recommend to Burger King to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS TIME NOW, BEFORE the next ROYALTY is selected for ENGLAND. CAPITALIZING on it at that time would only make the King look like a fool, and a lot of people would take offense to that.
Now, evaluating their websites and company. Burger King is sitting at $14.26/share while MacDonald's is sitting at $88.72/share Burger King would make a good business (or burger) to flip. It would take some doing, but it could be done. I use it as a model for good business, but take Starbucks for instance, Burger King could be the Upscale Burger Food Burger joint. They definitely are getting some competition from In-and-Out burger and Steak and Shake in the Texas area now. What is Burger King doing but comparing itself to MacDonald's and Jack in the Box all the time.
You could have a Menu Full of a King's Ransom, or the King's Value. You could have Queen and Princess and Prince and do the WHOLE GAMUT of Royalty in their menu. You could Market the children's menu's as Prince and Princesses, and then Complimentary Items to King Burgers as Queen. I know it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it definately does need reworking. I'm just throwing out some ideas as hey, it's YOUR BUSINESS, what are you REALLY DOING with it??
